Upgrading from a CSH-8L MK2
Your hull tube stays. Here's everything else that changes.

What carries over
- The hull tube. Furuno designed the CSH-10 to use the same hull tubes as the CSH-8L MK2 and CSH-5L MK2, so the hull work you paid for stays.
- Your sensors. Heading, speed and course over NMEA 0183 feed the CSH-10 the same way, and it now has five NMEA ports.
What changes
- Hoist and shaft. The CSH-10 uses its own hoist (CSH1040 400 mm or CSH1041 600 mm, $9,265 MSRP) and its own shaft ($1,970 to $4,750).
- Power. The CSH-8L MK2 runs on 100 to 240 VAC as standard. The CSH-10 transceiver and hull unit run on 24 VDC, up to 7.2 A and 10 A, and the processor on 12 to 24 VDC. Plan for 24 VDC circuits, or Furuno's PR-241 AC/DC supply.
- Video. The CSH-8L MK2 outputs RGB at 1024 x 768. The CSH-10 outputs HDMI at 1280 x 1024. Check your monitor's inputs, or show the sonar on a TZtouchXL.
- Motion sensor. The CSH-10 uses its own CSH-1042 motion sensor in place of the 8L's MS100.
- Controls. New SCU-002 control unit; CSH7040 handheld remotes don't carry over. Choose wired or wireless CSH-10 remotes.
Before the yard
- Confirm the existing tube's material and length, and whether your current travel is still right for the tank position.
- Measure flange-to-hoist height for the shaft.
- Check 24 VDC capacity near the transceiver and hoist.
- Decide on display: monitor over HDMI, or TZtouchXL 25.11 or later.
- Decide whether to sell the CSH-8L MK2 as a complete system.
