CSH-10 features

What each feature does on the water, in plain terms.

Beam stabilization with a standard motion sensor

A rolling boat swings a 6° beam above and below the fish. The CSH-10 ships with the CSH-1042 motion sensor, and Furuno's stabilization re-aims the beam continuously to the tilt you set. Transmit and receive beams are corrected independently, so marks hold steady in a sea. The comparison at the top of the home page shows the difference.

Auto Filter

Furuno's Auto Filter reduces background noise. Combined with stabilization, Furuno shows a shipwreck at the same range coming through clean on the CSH-10 where the previous model drew false echoes around it.

Longer reach

Detection up to 900 m, over 2,900 ft. Furuno credits the built-in motion sensor with a 20% gain in long-range detection over the previous model, and shows a wreck imaged at about 850 m.

32-color picture

The palette doubles from the CSH-8L MK2's 16 colors to 32, so the light and dark shading inside a school is visible.

Target lock, two modes

Fish mode follows a moving school and keeps it on screen, showing its distance from the boat, depth, speed and direction. Target mark mode holds a fixed position such as a reef. Both need speed, course and heading data from the boat's sensors.

Fish estimate mark

Drop a fish estimate mark on a school and the data box shows its length, width, area and an estimate index: a ratio comparing the echo inside the mark with its surroundings. Mark two schools and compare them before you commit.

Tilt indicator

Top left of the screen: the tilt angle, the straight-line, horizontal and vertical distance to the cursor, the beam's detection range, and the depth of the top and bottom edges of the beam. You always know what depth you're looking at.

Echo recording and playback

Save still images and video of the sonar picture to internal memory or external storage, and play them back from the menu. Useful for the crew debrief and for teaching a new operator.

Control unit and remotes

The SCU-002 control unit is smaller than the previous model's and keeps the function keys, tilt lever and large trackball, adding Furuno's RotoKey. Options: a wired FSV-854-MK2 remote, up to four SCU-001 Bluetooth remotes with their status shown on screen, and the SCU-003 small switch box with just power, raise/lower and a speaker.

NavNet TZtouchXL integration

On TZtouchXL software 25.11 or later, the CSH-10 is a native sensor with its own sonar page. Control range, gain and tilt from the touchscreen, view event history, and overlay live sonar echoes on the chart and BathyVision contours. Furuno calls the overlay the first of its kind.

Faster hoist, tougher dome

Raise or lower in 7 s (400 mm) or 10 s (600 mm), about twice as fast as before, rated to 20 kn deployed and 18 kn while moving, 2 kn more than the previous model. A new dome protects the transducer from line chafe, impact and corrosion, and an on-screen indicator shows whether it's retracted, moving or deployed.

Display modes

Full-screen sonar with navigation data in a text window, or sonar with a fish finder picture alongside to judge school density (fish finder connection required).
